For effective search engine marketing, you need more than just top rankings.

Remember to include strong calls to action to compel a response from the reader.

But also remember that people often get accustomed to the same type of terminology if it is repeated over and over again. Practice coming up with new ways to describe a “call to action” so that it still delivers value, but does not get ignored. The same is true when describing a special bonus or a guarantee.

Work to make your “calls to action” memorable. Make them stand out on the page.

Are you aware of the penalties for using hidden text? This out dated technique is Spam. Never try to add keywords or text to a page, in the same color font as the exact background color, thus making text appear hidden.

Spam Alert: Don’t EVER use hidden text, hidden links or hidden “anything” on a page unless you want to risk setting off some warning flags and risk getting in trouble.

Special Tip: Be sure to use care with text color inside of a table too.

Example: If your background is a white page and you are using a table filled with dark Navy Blue (for example.) Be careful not to use a white colored font text. Although the text is not hidden, you could still accidentally set off some flags by using a white text with a white background (regardless of the fact that the table is blue.)

In such momoments, you realize the “gold” that this site is missing. But as a potential customer, you know about it – don’t you?

No one can be the “best” at everything. No one can know everything. But with these relationships, you can pool your resources and keep yourselves informed in your own circle of power. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, but someone else is there with their strengths to offset your weaknesses.

But be sure to build these relationships honestly and make absolutely sure that they’re real. Otherwise, there will be no foundation at all if they aren’t.

I believe that often when we write fresh new content, our thoughts creatively continue to “work” as the old expression suggests…as we “sleep on it.” This applies especially to creative writing or even just copywriting in general.

Try working on two or three different projects over a period of a few days. Don’t be in a big rush to finish something off too quickly. But give yourself the liberty to be your “creative best” over a period of time.

SEO Example: Try writing your keyword rich decriptions (the ones you might use for directory submission) over a period of 24 to 48 hours. Write and re-write the next day. Watch and see if the quality of your decriptions do not improve sharply so that you end up with a keyword rich description that still reads well to the reader.

Think about this…when you examine your Web activity reports:

Single access pages
Which pages are being viewed by themselves, where visitors aren’t even clicking to go to another page? Again, look at these pages carefully to see what you can provide on the page to keep up the interest of your visitors. You’re losing them, and you need to figure out why.

If 70-80% of your visitors only looked at one page, perhaps you need to look at your navigation system. Are visitors confused and unable to find what they’re looking for?
