Google now enhanced his search feature called Google Instant Search. Google Instant is a new search enhancement feature that shows results as you type in the search box.

Google are pushing the limits of their technology and infrastructure to help you get better search results, faster.

Google key technical insight was that people type slowly, but read quickly, typically taking 300 ms between key  strokes, but only 30 ms to glance at another part of the page,  means that we are scan a results page while we type.

Now We  get to the right content much faster than before because we don’t have to finish typing our full search term, or even press “search.”

This Google Instant Search change does not impact the ranking of search results.

One of the most important steps in improving your site’s ranking in Google search results is to ensure that it contains plenty of rich information that includes relevant keywords, used appropriately, that indicate the subject matter of your content.

However, some webmasters attempt to improve their page’s ranking and attract visitors by creating pages with many words but little or no authentic content. Google will take action against domains that try to rank more highly by just showing scraped or other auto-generated pages that don’t add any value to users. Examples include:

• Thin affiliate sites: These sites collect pay-per-click (PPC) revenue by sending visitors to the sites of affiliate programs, while providing little or no value-added content or service to the user. These sites usually have no original content and may be cookie-cutter sites or templates with no unique content.
• Doorway pages: Pages created just for search engines
• Auto-generated content: Content generated programatically. Often this will consist of random paragraphs of text that make no sense to the reader but that may contain search keywords.
• Scraped content: Some webmasters make use of content taken from other, more reputable sites on the assumption that increasing the volume of web pages with random, irrelevant content is a good long-term strategy. Purely scraped content, even from high-quality sources, may not provide any added value to your users without additional useful services or content provided by your site. It’s worthwhile to take the time to create original content that sets your site apart. This will keep your visitors coming back and will provide useful search results.

There is no problem in being an affiliate as long as you create some added value for your users and produce valuable content that gives a user a reason to visit your site. For example, you could create product reviews, ratings, and product comparisons.

Natural Language Processing or NLP for short, is an extremely powerful influence to relevancy.

Just remember that it does not ever replace good basic optimization factors, but it is something that you can study and apply to specific pages for those occasions where you have very low KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) phrases, that are highly competitive.

NLP is an influence that is at work in the background rewarding you for writing higher quality, (well written) content.

When you hear Matt Cutts from Google talking about writing better quality content, he is not offering deep hidden meaning in his advice. There are EXCELLENT reasons to write higher quality content that reads well to your visitors.

Best advice is to create content that is useful, reads well and that serves some legitimate purpose.

Did you know that when it comes to semantics and how word one word relates to another word, that Google is pretty good at understanding context and word relationships. This is thanks to the artificial intelligence that is built in to Google.

Just remember that a search engine does not have true intelligence but it relies upon ALL of it’s collected data when determining word relationships.

Never assume that words relate to each other simply because they make sense based on “human intelligence.”

Try examining which words are related to each other through the use of Wordtracker’s FULL SEARCH function which helps you see which words are true supporting terms and will be more effective.

Try and use better words in your linking strategies based on terms that the search engines understand are related.

The newer, inexperienced SEO tends to always try and “rush” their optimization efforts. I often see where new students want to continually “tweak their code” far too often, not allowing adequate time for robots to visit.

Best practice is to let the search engine robots run on their own schedule. If you want to make important changes, allow plenty of time in between to ensure the robots are finding the pages. But most importantly, you want to learn more from each change you make. You want to understand more, with each exercise.

Not every bit of optimization work will be measured, BUT when it comes to “trouble shooting,” it’s absolutely important that you measure your changes and post them to your log for review, at a later date. This way, if you error in any way, it can usually be undone fairly easily.
